Zoo Exceptions to Normal Hours & Special Notices
  • The Zoo will be hosting Dog Days at the Zoo on the following dates:
    – All day on: Wednesday, June 12; Monday, June 24; Tuesday, July 16; Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
    – For these special dates, the Zoo is open for regular admission, but you can also bring your well-behaved dog to the Zoo with you (dog tickets are limited).
    – Simply purchase a dog ticket along with your family’s human tickets, and Fido can experience many of the sights, sounds and smells that make the Zoo so special.
    – A limited number of dog tickets are available throughout each day, and can be purchased at cmzoo.org/dogdays.
  • The Zoo will close early at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024 for our evening fundraising event Zoo Ball, last timed ticket 3-3:30 p.m., Sky Ride closes at 4 p.m., last ride at 3:30 p.m., Encounter African will close at 3:30 p.m.
  • The Zoo will close early at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2024 for our evening fundraising event, Moonlight on the Mountain. Last timed ticket 3-3:30 p.m., last Sky Ride 3 p.m., Shrine closes at 4 p.m. (last car up at 3 p.m.). The Zoo will reopen for Moonlight on the Mountain at 5 p.m. for VIP early-entry ticket holders, and 6 p.m. for general admission ticket holders.
  • Our grizzly bears have temporarily moved to the Asiatic bear area near the play hill, above the tapir yard. Read why at cmzoo.org/bears!

NOTE: Normal daytime Zoo hours are year-round, daily, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., last timed entry at 4 p.m., unless otherwise noted. (Please note: Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun hours are different from Zoo hours.)
